Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question before your visit? Here are quick answers to what patients ask us most. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, give us a call at (941) 777-0002 — we’re happy to help.
1. Are you accepting new patients?
Yes — Sarasota Bay Clinic is currently welcoming new patients of all ages. You can request an appointment online or call (941) 777-0002 to get started.
2. What insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most major insurance plans, including a wide range of Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. Visit our Insurances page for the current list, or call our office to confirm your specific plan is in-network.
3. What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of current medications with dosages, and any relevant medical records or recent test results. Completing our new patient forms ahead of time will save you time at check-in.
4. What conditions do you treat?
As a primary care practice, we care for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and cardiovascular issues, thyroid disorders, and more. We also offer preventive care, women’s health, weight management, and telehealth visits.
5. Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. Secure virtual visits are available for follow-ups, medication management, and minor concerns where an in-person exam isn’t needed — so you can get quality care without leaving home.
6. How does your weight loss program work?
Our medically supervised program combines GLP-1 and dual GLP-1/GIP agonist medications with regular clinical oversight, lab monitoring, and lifestyle guidance. After an initial consultation, your provider will determine whether it’s the right fit and build a plan around your health goals.
7. How do I access the patient portal?
Our patient portal is hosted through athenahealth. After your first appointment, you’ll receive an invitation to register, and you can log in anytime through the Patient Portal link on our website to view records, message your provider, and manage appointments.
